Ever since the upsurge of the current cycle of resistance to capitalism worldwide, activists have been talking about the need to supplement their protests and direct actions with the construction of on-the-ground alternatives that can proliferate and hollow-out the given society, building local self-reliance and sustainable community. Intent on moving from promises to performance, a group of Israeli anarchists are coming together these days with the intention of setting up an anarchist eco-community somewhere iin Kna'an, the land that is called Israel by some and Palestine by others. The temporary name for the project is "Amoria," combining the Hebrew names for Gomorrah (Amora) and the Temple Mount (Moria), to create a name that resonates with love. Meetings in Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv have seen the early stages of a core group forming, which includes veterans of ecological and anti-occupation struggles as well as newcomers to the Israeli activist scene. Among the priorities articulated for the project in these meetings were political activism, spiritual pluralism and a balance between collective living and private space. The community is intended to be based on ecological principles, with members collectively growing their own food and generating energy off the grid with a subversive pioneering attitude that is post-zionist, post-palestinian, post-modern, and post-carbon. מאז ראשית המחזור הנוכחי של ההתנגדות לקפיטליזם ברחבי העולם, הפעילים דיברו
על הצורך בהשלמת המחאה והפעולות הישירות בבניה של אלטרנטיבות בשטח, שיתפשטו
וירוקנו את החברה הקיימת מתוכנה, על ידי הקמה של קהילות מקומיות, בנות קיימא
ומספקות צרכי עצמן. נחושים לעבור מהבטחות למעשים, קבוצה של אנרכיסטים ישראלים מתאחדת בימים אלה בכוונה להתיישב כקהילה אקולוגית-אנרכיסטית אי שם בכנען, הארץ שנקראת ישראל בפי אחדים ופלשתין בפי אחרים. השם הזמני לפרויקט הוא "אמוריה", צרוף של אמורה (מסדום ועמורה) והר הבית (מוריה) ליצירת שם שמזכיר אהבה (אמור). בפגישות שהתקיימו בירושלים ובתל אביב נראו השלבים הראשונים של היווצרות גרעין לקבוצה, שכוללת פעילים ותיקים ממאבקים אקולוגיים ומהמחאה כנגד הכיבוש וכן חדשים לסצנת האקטיביזם הישראלית. בין העקרונות שגובשו לפרויקט בפגישות אלו נכללים פעילות פוליטית, פלורליזם רוחני ואיזון בין חיים שיתופיים ומרחב פרטי. הכוונה היא לבסס את הקהילה על עקרונות אקולוגיים, גידול מזון לצריכה עצמית על ידי חברי הקהילה וייצור אנרגיה מחוץ לרשת הארצית, במסגרת התייחסות חתרנית וחלוצית שהיא פוסט-ציונית, פוסט-פלשתינית, פוסט-מודרנית ופוסט-פחמן . אם זה נשמע כמו קהילה לטעמך, צרי קשר עם (א)מוריה.
